How long should I register a domain name for?
I
often am ask how long a domain
name should be registered for. It really depends
on what your plans are for the domain name. Some people register many domain
names for testing purpose only, they buy domain
names then park them
for PPC (Pay Per Click) testing.
If you're a business owner looking to create
a website for your business then you should register your domain
name for
at least 10 years. Search engines also look at the the historical data of
a domain name to help determine it's worthiness. We also recommend including
private
domain name registration too, also referred to as privacy
domain name registration. Private domain name registration protects
your personal information from the public Whois data base (A data base of
all domain names registered world wide and shows your personal information
to anyone through your
domain name registration whois
records.
