To transfer domain names from one domain registrar to another is usually a smooth process. However sometimes you can run into problems such as your current registrar denies your transfer request by putting certain rules in place, such as, you can't transfer a domain name that has just been registered with that domain registrar until after a 60 days waiting period, it really depends on the registrars you are using, as they make up thier own rules, so it's very important to read their terms of service.

Domain names are big business and so there are many scammers that request fake domain name transfers in hopes that the owner never receives the email informing them of the transfer request. Be careful.
